Between the three GCSE options and the two IGCSE options, there are 5 possible choices of exam for business. This can make it difficult to choose the right one for your young person.
For my son, OCR GCSE was the right choice. He struggles with longer questions and OCR has the least long/high mark questions of all the boards and also has the highest number of multiple choice questions so it plays to his strengths. I also really like the style of the exam papers and having compared the textbooks for OCR and our other main option, Edexcel IGCSE, I much preferred the OCR textbook.
Of course every child is different and what’s perfect for one can be a nightmare for another. That’s why I have put together a guide to the different exam board options. It covers things like number of long questions and multiple choice questions, the number of case studies, when the exam can be take, the amount of resources available, the number of different command words the exam questions use and lots more.
